Principal Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Term One, we have had a beautiful beginning to Term One. The children
are settled in the classrooms and keen to begin their lessons.

Our Foundation students are full of life and keen to be friends with everyone.

We will be asking children from all levels to consider applying for SRC this year. Our
running track continues to be one of the main focus for the group. The track is being
used but perhaps not the prettiest as it could be. The SRC team will function for the
whole year this year and will work on different initiatives forwarded to them by their
peers.

Voting for student leaders took place last year. The roles have not yet been
nominated for Sports Captains, Sustainability Warriors, PBS shop organisers and the
Social Justice Team. The process for this will be discussed with students in the
senior school in the coming weeks.

Digital Technology Agreement

Today the senior school will be sent home a new digital technology agreement. This
year all students in Years 3 to 6 will be responsible for their own Chromebook at
school. This device belongs to the school and will be kept at the school but is for the
sole use of each student. This strategy will be developing new responsibilities for the
students in the 3-6 area. Please read through the agreement with your student to
ensure they understand the consequences of not following the agreement.
We ask all parents to be vigilant in monitoring social media platforms and make sure
you are aware of the legal requirements of interacting on platforms such as TikTok,
Facebook, and Snapchat etc.

UNIFORM

It is very pleasing to see most of our children beautifully attired in the correct school
uniform. The new uniform is now the official attire. The exceptions are children
growing out of an old red T-shirt or long sleeve and some of our Foundation students
who have the last of the summer dresses. All students must be in black shoes when
they do not have sport. Jewellery is one sleeper or a stud and hair ties must be
school colour or natural tones.
Sport Day is Monday for all students.
If there is any reason why your child is out of uniform for example (you have lost a
jumper or have wet shoes) please let the teacher know via a note or an email.

HATS

Please ensure your child has their own hat. Children are not to share hats or
use a spare. Hats are available at the office for $10

COMMUNICATION

We are asking all communication with teachers is via email or phone. Written notes
often get lost and teachers are able to revisit the digital message at any time. The
teachers will respond as soon as practicable in the next day of your message.
All students will receive a reading log in the next few weeks. This is for recording
reading as directed by the teachers in your student’s level. The reading logs will be
checked at different times during the week by different teachers.

My last thoughts for the week are focused on the weather and as is the way in
Australia as soon as we are back at school the temperature increases. I hope you
enjoy the weekend with the children who deserve a rest after a very exciting start
and can stay cool in the heat.

Blessings for a restful weekend,

God Bless,

Anne-Marie Robb
