Shove Tuesday
Shrove Tuesday is commonly known as Pancake Tuesday. It is the last day before the
season of Lent begins. Traditionally Christians would use all their flour, milk, butter,sugar and eggs to make pancakes in preparation for fasting through Lent.This year all students had the experience of eating pancakes in the classroom kindly cooked by Mrs P. and Miss Kristy and served by our school leaders.
Lent
This year Lent began on Wednesday 14th February. Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent and the whole school attended Mass on this day together.
During the season of Lent we raise money for Caritas- Project Compassion. This money is donated to help people living in some of the most vulnerable communities across the world. Our newly formed Social Justice leaders will be selling icy poles every Tuesday and Thursday thr
Sacraments
We will begin preparing students shortly who will be embarking on their sacrament journey. Before this happens together with Father James, St Vincent and Lumen Christi families there will be an enrolment information evening.
This is a compulsory meeting for any families who have a student doing their Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation.
Baptised students in Grade 3 can prepare for Reconciliation.
Baptised students in Grade 4 can prepare for First Eucharist.
Baptised students in Grade 6 can prepare for Confirmation.
If for some reason your child has missed the sacrament we are able to prepare them for missed sacraments.
Below are the dates for the compulsory meeting and Sacrament celebrations. Commitment mass dates along with an enrolment form will be sent home on Monday. If you have any questions please contact Michelle minchincoli@shmorwell.

Wed 21st Feburary - Sacrament Compulsory Parent Meeting at Sacred Heart Church- 5:30-6:30pm
Sacrament of First Eucharist- First commitment mass weekend 2nd or 3rd march - Second commitment mass 16th or 17th March - Third commitment mass 23rd or 24th March
21st April 10:30 am- Sacrament of First Eucharist at Sacred Heart church
Confirmation- May 23rd- 5:30pm
Sacrament of Reconciliation- Wed 27th November 5:30pm
