Principal Report
Good Afternoon Sacred Heart Families,
Again we finish another busy fortnight with many exciting things happening at school.
Catholic Education Week
Last week was Catholic Education Week and the celebrations for the students
included an open day for new parents, interactive activities in the classrooms, and a
Liturgy at Assembly run by the Grade Six students.
Grade Six Gifts and Service Evening
Coincidently the Grade Six students had their retreat day at school on Wednesday
22 nd during Catholic Education Week. The students spent the day reflecting on their
knowledge of the Gifts of the Spirit. They completed research tasks around Catholic
canonized saints and real-life saints in their lives. Students who attended the
evening prepared a meal for their families and on the night they served a main of
tacos and dessert with either fruit salad or mini chocolate ripple cake. The Grade 6
team supported two candidates who Confirmed their Baptism on the following
Thursday night. I ask you to keep in your prayers Charlie and Lachy as they continue
their faith journey.
Online Platforms
Again, I ask all parents to be exceptionally vigilant with online platforms as children
at primary school age are not meant to be engaging in them alone and most do not
have the maturity to be able to self-regulate without support from an adult. Please
keep an eye on your child/ren’s interactions on digital platforms.
School Uniform
Please continue to send your children in the correct uniform, children must wear
black shoes on the four days they do not have sport. If they are wearing runners,
they must not have brand logos on them. Hair ties must be in neutral colours or in
white, red or green. We are all looking a lot smarter in our uniforms.
Reconciliation Week
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about shared
histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute
to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
At school, there has been a focus during prayer on reconciliation and the students
have taken part in cross-activities across the whole school.
Coming Up
With only four weeks left of Term 2, we have quite a few things jammed in, especially
for the senior students.
There is a planned netball clinic for all 3,4,5,6, and our boys and girls’ netball
champions will play in the division level. Grade 6’s will visit the kindergartens and the
juniors will have a fabulous “Showcase” day. One week the King’s Birthday has a
school closure day attached to it making it a four-day weekend on the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th of June.
Aboriginal Family's Afternoon tea is planned for the 26th Wednesday in the last week of Term.
Blessings to you all on the first weekend of winter,
Anne-Marie Robb
