Principal Report

Dear Parents and Families,

Term Three well underway.

Grade 5/6 Camp
This week the Grade 5/6 students have enjoyed the Urban Camp experience in Melbourne. Tied into the Big Idea of “Showcase-Storytelling” they have been to live theatre to see “Beauty and the Beast”, toured the Immigration Museum, explored the MCG, experienced Skydeck at night, toured the zoo using infrared lights at night, walked I believe 21840 steps in a day and dinned out in the city. I have heard a rumour that Mrs. I might not be in charge of the activities next time we go due to the step count. The students have learned to safely hop on and off public transport following a predestined pathway. During Maths in the preceding weeks some of the Grade 6 children were assigned the task of preparing the routes to be taken whilst in the city. I think so far so good with where they need to be.

GRAND PARENTS DAY
The celebrations for Grandparents Day continue to delight us, and the day last Friday continued the delightful tradition. Morning Mass at 9:15 with our families, followed by activities and morning tea. Many students took up the opportunity to spend some time with their grandparents in the book fair which is the preclude to book week next week. Thank you so much to all the families who sponsored the students on our special day. Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, Parents and Special friends visiting all make a wonderful day for our community.

UNIFORM
All students at Sacred Heart are expected to be in the correct uniform at all times at school. If you are waiting on an order or have wet and muddy items, please let your child’s teacher know via email or note. Out of uniform will mean that an infringement note will be sent home, please ensure your child has the correct shoes (black with no logo), correct jacket with the logo and correct T-shirt.
Plain green windcheaters are not acceptable, the old style windcheater will not be acceptable at the end of this year. Coloured hair ties must be red, white, bottle green, black or natural hair colour. Unicorn or rainbow is not acceptable. Earrings are to be one lobe piercing with a sleeper or a stud and necklaces can be a religious pendant to be worn at the students’ own risk. Nail polish is not allowed, socks must be black, bottle green, white or the school branded socks, if it is cold, a black or bottle green or old style knitted beanie can be worn outside. Please ensure your child is in the correct uniform.

SOCIAL MEDIA
I continue to ask that all parents and care givers continue to monitor their students on digital platforms. Children in primary school have not yet developed the capabilities to self-regulate in this area of interaction.

Keep Warm and…God Bless,

Anne-Marie Robb
