Principal Report
Dear Sacred Heart Families,
The children have continued to embrace the warmer weather; however some days have been quite wet and windy, and children need to wear their school jackets. I remind all families to label their jackets. There are many unnamed jackets in our lost property area, if you are missing one please come and have a look.
Vic Spell and District athletics
This year we had a clash for our senior students with the district sports and the VicSpell competition. On Monday we will be having a spelling competition at school where all children from Grade 3-6 can choose to compete in our own Spelling Bee. Each year level will have the opportunity to complete. There will be a 1 st and 2 nd prize winner from each level. We will continue this practice moving into next year.
Swimming
Our children have embraced the swimming opportunity. This year we have been able to take advantage of the government sponsored swimming program for schools. This has enabled us to double the sessions from 4 to 8. We are already seeing a great improvement from participating in an intensive course and look forward to another positive week next week.
HATS
The wearing of Hats has begun after the Father’s Day weekend. Already we have had weather demanding caution outside for longer periods of time. We have new hats for sale in the office $10 each. Children will not be permitted to wear each other’s hats for hygienic reasons. All Children need a hat for walking to swimming next week.
Fathers’ Day breakfast
Thank you to all the dad’s and special people who came to the Father’s Day breakfast. With some rainy weather earlier, some families spent the morning indoors playing games and looking at displays and work the children had done. There was a short spot for them to play outside and we were able to draw the raffle.
SOCIAL MEDIA
I continue to ask that all parents and care givers continue to monitor their students on digital platforms. Children in primary school have not yet developed the capabilities to self-regulate in this area of interaction.
Keep Warm and…God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb
