Dear Families,

I welcome you all to Term Four.

Our Big Idea for Term 4 is Invent with Intent
Big Idea for Term 4 is “Invent with Intent”. In Faith Education the children will be
considering “social justice” issues and looking to the Beatitudes as in intentional
invention of Jesus. They will have the opportunity to invent their own Beatitudes for
Sacred Heart 2025. The seniors will lead the school in the mission month of October
and celebrate Socktober activities. The juniors will be learn about Noah’s Ark and
how we must learn to trust God’s design for us. The Advent season will bring about
opportunities for gift giving as Jesus is a gift to the world. The children will all be
designing and creating in this space.
The children will all be working from the Design and Technology strands in the
curriculum. This will include planning and testing best design production and then
making.

School uniform
It is great to see most students are wearing the correct school uniform with no brand
black shoes please make sure your child has the correct colour shoes. Hats are now
compulsory. Please ensure to send your child with a note (email to teachers) if they
are out of uniform, we understand wet socks and muddy shoes and not yet dry
jumpers on occasion.

Communicating with teachers
At Sacred Heart we invest in the partnership we have with families. We invite all
parents and carers to communicate with teachers about any concern you may have
regarding your child’s education. If there is a concern brought to your attention,
please let us know so we can work together to improve learning outcomes. Email is
an efficient way to communicate.

Andrew Chinn
Next week the children will have a performance day with Andrew Chinn. He will be
taking singing and performing sessions with all levels and then at 2:00pm children
will be involved in an hour production that all families are invited to.
Andrew Chinn in concert with the students at Sacred Heart is on Wednesday 15 th
2:00pm in the Multipurpose room. All welcome.

Socktober
Friday 17 th is Crazy Sock Day. The social justice team will be helping to deliver the
promotion of the day. Think about those funny socks you may have bought from out
sock stall or any favourites you have in the cupboard for Friday.

Absence at school
If your child is unwell for an extended period, we are required to ask for a medical
certificate. If you are taking your child for a holiday or have a family event for any
period of time, we must have written notification. This can be via email or the SIMON
everywhere app. Attending school is compulsory, and we are required by law to
record daily attendances.
