Principal Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
These last two weeks have brought us challenges that we have been able to overcome. To all those families who couldn’t make it to school and who had power outages for lengthy periods, we share your frustration. We are nearly at the holidays and are ready for a much-needed break.
I have exciting news about the school uniform.
- You will see that we have put in the newsletter the new design with the contract for the new company currently in process.
- We are hoping to have our new line ready for purchase in Term 4 (maybe sooner).
- The remaining stock from Lowes will be available for purchase at school for a much-reduced rate at the beginning of Term 3… The new uniform will be fazed in over the next 3 years.
- Purchasing the new uniform will be completed on-line with free delivery to the school once a term, however, purchases can be delivered to home addresses at any time for a small postage fee.
- If you are in immediate need of uniform please call and we will assist with second-hand items.
We had a lovely celebration day for the Feast of The Sacred Heart of Jesus… more photos from the day will be out on Facebook soon. The children enjoyed the celebration from a faith perspective showing respect during our liturgy and enjoyed the celebration by engaging in the cross-aged activities.
Next week we look forward to camp for the Grade 5/6 and will post many pictures, (internet connection permitting,) on Facebook so you can all see how we are travelling. I would like to thank Mrs. Smyth for her tireless work in organizing and reorganizing the camp with all the risk assessments involved, she has done an amazing job to get us here. Mrs. Smyth, Mrs. McDonald, Mr. Caffrey, Miss Kristy and myself will be attending camp for the three days.
The tutoring program funded by the Victorian government will commence at Sacred Heart in Term 3 and continue until the end of Term 4. Teachers will contact parents to explain the program and what it means for the students involved. Mr. Caffrey and Miss Bakker will be working in the school alongside the classroom teachers using high impact teaching strategies to continue to develop improved learning outcomes at Sacred Heart.
As the weather brings us the challenges of winter and extreme events I would like to send out a prayer for our community …
Dear Lord,
In the midst of Winter, when the days are cold and wind can pierce remind us of the warmth of your love.
In the midst of Winter, when days are short, dawn comes late, and dusk arrives early remind us that in the darkness your light still shines.
In the midst of Winter, when the flowers of spring still lie hidden in the earth, when leaves are off the trees, and the world can seem bleak, remind us that the season passes quickly when we appreciate the beauty of the world around us at this time.
And when in our lives we feel as if we are experiencing a season of winter, reach out to us with the power of your resurrection so that we may feel the warmth of your love and see your light that alone can take away the darkness of our soul.
God Bless,
Yours in Partnership,
Anne-Marie Robb
