Principal Report
Dear Families,
Welcome back. We have begun Term 2 with enthusiasm and focus. Considering the challenges of our current pandemic we are finding that our children are becoming more resilient and improving their general tenacity and persistence in all areas, social and academic.
We have an exciting term ahead; our Big Idea is Belonging which draws content from the key learning area of History. Our Religious Education focus also looks at how Jesus invited us to “Belong”.
The children in Grade 6 who are beginning preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation will study how they belong to the Church and also look at the gifts of the spirit that the saints show as part of their belonging journey.
I would like to thank our school leaders, Rahni, Mayah, Isabella-Rose and Eli for leading our school on ANZAC day. Thanks also to Kosta who wore his Great Grand Father’s medals. On the day the children were a bit nervous but together they showed respect and participated with dignity during the event.
This term the Grade 5/6’s will be attending the Log Cabin Camp in Creswick. This is an amazing camp with much to offer and a day trio to Sovereign Hill. The Juniors are planning to go to several excursions and we are celebrating Mother’s Day next week. We are embracing the relaxation of COVID rules by opening up for a series of open days for family and friends to celebrate Catholic Education week in the beginning of June.
We are excited that we will begin to attend Mass on Friday mornings at the church and adding to this, we will have a general parent information night for all parents at the school in the coming weeks.
Dates for all these occasions will be released in due course.
Please enjoy the blessings of your children over the weekend,
God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb
