Faith Works
Congratulations to Helanah, who received her First Eucharist on Sunday 16th October. May the blessings you received strengthen your faith journey.
‘Socktober’- Mission Month
This month, October, is Mission Month and we have connected with Catholic Mission to raise funds to support vulnerable children in Ethiopia who are facing malnutrition and food insecurity. This links to the Catholic Social Teaching from the RE curriculum. Catholic Social Teaching focuses on our call to work for peace, justice and the common good of society.
On Thursday 27th we will celebrate ‘Silly Sock Day’ where children can wear silly socks and bring a gold coin donation. This money will be used to support a goat raising farm in Ethiopia.
We also ask for families to donate any old socks, too small and holey socks. Classes will use these socks to make a soccer ball on Thursday 27th October out of the recycled materials. Soccer is the worldwide game that all children of all countries can participate and connect with. Students will experience how other children adapt their limited resources to play soccer.
