About Socktober

LEAD - Socktober provides children with the opportunity to lead in mission month by sharing their story of support with their family and friends.

CHALLENGE - Socktober resources have been designed by an experienced team of educators for discussion and engagement between children, their classmates and their families before, during and after Socktober.

CREATE – As part of Socktober, children make their own recycled ‘sockball’ – a replica of the type of ball thousands of children throughout the world use each day.

CELEBRATE - A Socktober Mission Day is an opportunity for our school to participate in additional activities including fun workshops, a penalty shootout game, and 360-degree virtual reality experiences. A Socktober Mission Day adds depth to children’s experience of mission and an understanding of how daily life is similar and different in countries such as Cambodia. 

The students had fun making their sock soccer balls with the support from the Social Justice Warriors while raising needed funds for the mission in Cambodia.  Children brought in a gold coin today and participated in a soccer game using their sock balls.
