Principal Report
Dear Families,
We have started to celebrate the ADVENT season at school with the commencement of building a community Jesse tree. This is in the office. Over the next two weeks we are placing images of the stories from the bible that are part of Jesus’ heritage. All children are involved and classes are constructing their own Jesse Trees in their classrooms.
Grade 3/4 Camp
Today I congratulate the Grade 3/4 students on their engagement in camp activities over the last two days. I was able to spend the whole day on Thursday with the students. The children embraced the challenge of the activities. Together they supported each other, encouraged and worked together. I did not hear of any complaints about having to walk over hills, or run back up steep inclines to bring back billy carts. Mrs. Inchincoli told me that at 11:30pm all children were asleep. I think in my whole career as a teacher (which is fairly long time now), I have never had all campers asleep on the 1st night at 11:30. Mrs. Inchincoli has told me that some students have asked to stay another night as it has been so much fun.
I would like to thank all the staff who have attended camp, giving hours of their own time to the students through preparation and care overnight.
School Captains
This year’s Grade 5 students are busy working on speeches to put themselves forward as our leaders for next year. I have been impressed with the fervour that has been put into the content of their speeches. On Tuesday next week students will present themselves as potential candidates for the various leadership roles. If your Grade 5 child is not going to be at school on Tuesday and they would like to present a speech,
please email your child’s teacher to sort out a delivery method. We can do online or display a pre-recorded speech if they are keen.
Junior Garden
The down stairs garden area has had a transformation from our junior students. It looks amazing. The children were lucky to be sponsored by Bunnings and we received a beautiful collection of plants that do not require direct sunlight. The ingenious junior teachers are working on a sprinkler system. I would like to thank Bunnings for their generosity.
God Bless you all and enjoy the sunshine this weekend,
Anne-Marie Robb
