Shove Tuesday
Shrove Tuesday is commonly known as Pancake Tuesday. It is the last day before the
season of Lent begins. Traditionally Christians would use all their flour, milk, butter,sugar and eggs to make pancakes in preparation for fasting through Lent.This year all students had the experience of eating pancakes in the classroom kindly cooked by Miss Kristy and served by our school leaders.
Lent
This year Lent began on Wednesday 22nd February. Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent and the whole school attended Mass on this day together.
During the season of Lent we raise money for Caritas- Project Compassion. This money is donated to help people living in some of the most vulnerable communities across the world. Our newly formed Social Justice leaders will be selling icy poles every Tuesday and Thursday throughout Term 1 for 50 cents. All proceeds will be donated to Project Compassion.
Reconciliation
Please keep all our First Reconciliation candidates in your prayers as they continue to prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Thursday 16th March- Grade Three- People, Party and Prayer evening- 6pm
On Thursday 16th March we will be having a reflection evening for all Grade 3 children and also any other children who are preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. More information will come out next week. We look forward to having a fun learning and celebration evening with students and their families.
