Principal Report
Dear Families,
Greetings for the end of Week 3 Term 4. It is with great delight that I can
announce the installation of the door in our STEM room. It was joyous on
Wednesday during the science lessons for all students to walk straight out onto
the garden from the front of the building. A year of planning and red tape box
ticking has the project finally come to fruition. This will move the development
of the Bush Tucker Garden forward. It is an exciting time.
Lunches brought into school/Subway
All food items brought into school for lunch must come through the office. We ask that soft drink is not part of the lunch brought in.
The Subway staff have requested that if late orders are brought into the store after the cut off day they must have cash. We get a discounted deal for the school and it is not reconciled through their normal system.
Icy poles
The Social Justice Team are selling icy poles every Tuesday and Thursday. 50c
an icy pole on Tuesday and Thursday. Proceeds go to Catholic Mission.
Grandparent’s Day
We invite all Grandparents and older special people to celebrate a morning
event at Sacred Heart. Mass will be celebrated at 9:15am at the Sacred Heart
church in the morning. Grandparents and or older special people will then be
invited to join their grand children at school for some activities in class and
then a light morning tea in the Josephite centre. A note is coming home for
each family today.
School uniform
This week there has been a great uptake of wearing black shoes with no brand
names. I thank you for your all for your commitment to Sacred Heart. We will
continue with random uniform checks. Please ensure to send your child with a
note (email to teachers- I ask that adults explain this) if they are out of
uniform, we understand wet socks and muddy shoes and not yet dry jumpers
on occasion.
In following weeks parents may receive a ping on their SIMON everywhere app
if their child is in the incorrect uniform.
Communicating with teachers
At Sacred Heart we invest in the partnership we have with families. We invite
all parents and carers to communicate with teachers about any concern you
may have regarding your child’s education. If there is a concern brought to
your attention, please let us know so we can work together to improve
learning outcomes. Email is an efficient way to communicate.

Absence at school
If your child is unwell for an extended period, we are required to ask for a
medical certificate. If you are taking your child for a holiday or have a family
event for any period of time, we must have written notification. This can be via
email or the SIMON everywhere app. Attending school is compulsory, and we
are required by law to record daily attendances.
Cricket
Again, due to inclement weather the Interschool cricket has been rescheduled
for next Thursday, if your child was attending, please log into PAM and re-sign
the permission slip.
Andrew Chinn concert
It was an absolute joy having Andrew Chinn at school last week. The children
are inspired by his engaging performance, and all feel inspired by his liturgical
music style. We will be showcasing the songs at the Grandparent’s Mass next
week. Thank you to the parents and families who came along on Tuesday
afternoon for our mini concert, all will agree it was a fun and funny show.
Grade 4 Greeting and Gathering Evening.
Thursday 26 th October all Grade 4’s and families are invited to a fun evening
exploring connection and interaction. Supper will be provided after a series of
engaging activities. A paper note is being sent home to Grade 4’s today.
Please enjoy the blessings of your children over the weekend,
God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb
