Dear Families,
We’re moving back to routine with our swimming lessons finished and the production
complete. The teachers are full swing into the content of the Big Idea “Geography” with the children .
The Production – The Time Machine
Let me convey the greatest “Thank You” to the amazing teachers I am privileged to lead at Sacred Heart. The effort and commitment they have to improving the students’ learning outcomes was evidenced in the school production last week.
The production was created by the senior students giving their lunch times up to share their collective creativity. The dedication they expressed learning lines and showing their expression in the dramatic space was fabulous.
All of you who attended would be aware from my discussion that the production is now part of a two-year cycle at Sacred Heart. All Grade 5 and 6 children will always have an opportunity for speaking roles if they are inspired to do so. All children have the opportunity to contribute with their talents in the senior area. Either backstage, engineering, prop production, dancing, singing, writing and play development.
Whilst we had a few nerves we had many more “get ups” and “stand ups” we had
empowered students supporting each other and confidence from achievements that were not considered possible.
At Sacred Heart the production was an example of our child centred teaching. The work came from the students, the story created by the students was a personal reflection on their learning over the past two years. The children developed characters considering the “Zones of regulation” a little like the movie “Inside Out”. They considered time passing, fads of different eras and historical contexts. The script writers tested appropriate songs and debated which would be suitable and then collaborated with Miss Maya about how they could work with dance moves.
The production now over for the next two years… I ask in advance the children in Years 3 and 4 to get their thinking caps on to create a story of wonderment for 2026.
School uniform
It is great to see most students are wearing the correct school uniform with no brand black shoes please make sure your child has the correct colour shoes. Hats are now compulsory.
Please ensure to send your child with a note (email to teachers) if they are out of uniform, we understand wet socks and muddy shoes and not yet dry jumpers on occasion.
CAR PARK
When dropping off students to the top door parents and carers must park. If you would like to drop off and go quickly please use the bottom drop off zone.
Children cannot be dropped off in front of the flags in the morning and walking back up to the top gate. They cannot be dropped off half way out of the car park on the exit space.
Drop off through drive through in the morning must be at the bottom gate.
This is essential for the safety of the children.
Communicating with teachers
At Sacred Heart we invest in the partnership we have with families. We invite all parents and carers to communicate with teachers about any concern you may have regarding your child’s education. If there is a concern brought to your attention, please let us know so we can work together to improve learning outcomes. Email is an efficient way to communicate.

Absence at school
If your child is unwell for an extended period, we are required to ask for a medical
certificate. If you are taking your child for a holiday or have a family event for any period of time, we must have written notification. This can be via email or the SIMON everywhere app. Attending school is compulsory, and we are required by law to record daily attendances.
Please enjoy the blessings of your children over the weekend,
God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb
