Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to ask for prayers for the Grade 4 children across the parish who are beginning the preparation journey for the Celebration of their 1 st Eucharist.
We also welcome Zac Arnold a past student from Sacred Heart who is now attending SEDA (Sports Education Development Australia). Zac is supporting our school in hands on intervention activities with Ms Hobbs and in the classroom. Zac will be with us for Semester 1 and 2.
THE BLOCK NEXT DOOR - (our new oval)
I announced the exciting news about the purchase of the block next door to us. I have begun the process of a Master Plan which will include consultation with members of community. This includes the children. I will deliver information around the progress of this as we speak. I am grateful for the team of parents and carers who have got together to support our fund raising. We have a focus in the development of the school property and the children are equally keen to participate in this.
UNIFORM
I draw your attention to ensuring your students have a school hat every day. Students will not be sharing hats or using spares. The consequence for not having a hat at school is playing in the undercover area at the top part of the school.
NAPLAN
This week both students in Grade 3 and Grade 5 have begun the NAPLAN assessment
schedule. The Grade 3 students have a hand written test for the writing component and the rest of the assessment is online. All the Grade 5 assessment is online. The students are sitting the assessment in the Multipurpose room in strict exam conditions. With the assessment mostly being online it means the schedule is implemented over two weeks and children who miss days are able to catch up within the two weeks following.
CAR PARK
Please pay attention to the dropping off and picking up procedures. When dropping off students in the morning please either park in the car park and have the students walk across the crossing or drive to the bottom gate.
For safety reasons we cannot have cars parking where the morning flags or beyond to let children out. Parents and Carers who wish to drop and run must drive to the gate at 8:30 and let the children walk up inside the school.
Please do not stop half way through the entrance gate to drop off.
Please keep to the speed signs on the road and in the car park.
Cars must move in and around the car park at walking pace (10kph) as designated by the signs on the road and (5kph) in the car park. Everybody must enter and leave the road slowly.
I wish you all a restful weekend,
God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb
