Dear Families,
All Saints Day
I would just like to thank the families who shared in our whole school Mass last week for “All Saints Day”. The children show great enthusiasm for the Mass Celebration especially the seniors who are enthusiastic volunteers. We all very much enjoyed singing the songs we learnt with Andrew Chinn the week before.
LITTLE LEARNERS
Our Little learners for next year’s Foundation students begins this week on the 14 th . Mrs Larkins will take the students in the library area. We are so excited to start this new group of students. Little Learners commences at 9:00 am and pick up is at 10:45 am. Students need a hat, fruit snack and water bottle. Please come through our temporary office in the fish bowl for sign in.
School uniform
It is great to see most students are wearing the correct school uniform with no brand black shoes please make sure your child has the correct colour shoes. Hats are now compulsory.
Please ensure to send your child with a note (email to teachers) if they are out of uniform, we understand wet socks and muddy shoes and not yet dry jumpers on occasion.
Please take note that nail polish, make up, dangly earrings or other piercings apart from two in the ear lobe are not permitted.
CENT MARKET
Children in Grade 5/6 created fabulous chance games and ran a mini fate to raise money for Catholic Mission. This combined effort from the whole school raised $225.25. Well done.
Digital Agreements and Technology.
I would like to remind parents to monitor students on digital platforms. The new social-media laws in Australia will be effective from December 10 th . This will mean many children will not be allowed on some social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and tiktok. I also draw your attention to the digital agreement that children must sign with their parents to access digital equipment at school. For safety compliance children are not allowed to have phone devices at school, this includes I-pads, tablets and watches. These must not be used on the school grounds and must be handed in at the office at the beginning of everyday.
CAR PARK
When dropping off students to the top door parents and carers must park. If you would like to drop off and go quickly please use the bottom drop off zone. Children cannot be dropped off in front of the flags in the morning and walking back up to the top gate. They cannot be dropped off half way out of the car park on the exit space.
Drop off through drive through in the morning must be at the bottom gate.
This is essential for the safety of the children.
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day will be celebrated with a short service at school on Tuesday. This year our school captains have been invited to participate with the RSL at the cenotaph on Elgin and Tarwin St. We will be placing a wreath and saying some poems. Poppies are on sale for $2, $3 or $5 at school.
Communicating with teachers
At Sacred Heart we invest in the partnership we have with families. We invite all parents and carers to communicate with teachers about any concern you may have regarding your child’s education. If there is a concern brought to your attention, please let us know so we can work together to improve learning outcomes. Email is an efficient way to communicate.

Absence at school
If your child is unwell for an extended period, we are required to ask for a medical
certificate. If you are taking your child for a holiday or have a family event for any period of time, we must have written notification. This can be via email or the SIMON everywhere app. Attending school is compulsory, and we are required by law to record daily attendances.
See most of you in the new week,
God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb
