Due to Covid restrictions the Book Fair scheduled for August has been postponed and will run in Term 4.
Information on the date will be onforwarded when to hand.
The Foundation students finally celebrated their 100th day of school!
Today was the perfect time to have fun with the number 100. We all enjoyed activities which provided opportunities for students practice concepts around 100 through making 10’s to 100 fruit loop chains and playing Olympic sports around the number 100.
We also shared a 100 cake and partitioned it in to 100 pieces to share with all the juniors and staff.
What a wonderful day of learning!
Congratulations to our Foundation students who are 100 days smarter!
A lot of fun was had as we embraced the sacrifices and training these Olympians have made to enable them to achieve at such a high level in sport.
Well done Aussies, you make us proud.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back “Take 2”, returning to school after this last lockdown has been calm, the children have appreciated the regularity of the school routine and been excited to participate in all the activities around the “Choices” idea.
This term I sent out an interest form for our school beginning afterschool care onsite. The response to this interest has been very positive and we are moving forward with the program. At this stage we are hoping the service can start half way through Term 4. Very soon we will be surveying the children about activities that will interest them while attending after school care. A survey will also be sent out to parents asking their input on potential activities.
Eucharist News
Information for the children in Grade 4 and 5 who have registered for 1st Eucharist will be out soon. The dates may be rescheduled and this will take some time to co-ordinate with the three schools. Explicit information will be sent out to the children involved.
The date for “Midwinter Prayers” is also postponed. The junior team will send out information regarding this. A quick reminder about “Midwinter Prayers”…This is for families of children in Foundation to Grade 2. Families are invited to come to school – children in their pyjamas- to take part in an active prayer for children session, this includes games and a candle procession in the dark to the church and then a shared hot food tea.
Today our celebration of Gold and Green Day has been embraced by all students. The celebration is about painting the country in our national colours and celebrating our sporting achievements and bringing the country together in green and gold. (As our uniform is half green we were half way there). The children have been enthused and helped to decorate the yard with balloons and streamers, taking advantage of the streamers by making head bands and cheering pompoms.
Uniform News.
We have now got all the old school uniforms which were being purchased from Lowes on site and next week we will be putting these school uniforms on sale at half cost price. These are all brand new and will be able to be worn for the next 3 years. A system of ordering items will be set up which will include prices and available sizes. At this stage we are not allowed to have parents onsite, so ordering will be done via the office. On Monday your child will receive a note explaining how to order the school uniforms. We are hoping the new uniform will be ready midway through Term 4.
Also, don’t forget, Friday 27th August 2021 is a school closure day.
Again, thank you for your communication and your patience during the challenging times we are in. Enjoy the weekend and the sunshine while it lasts tomorrow.
Blessings to all,
Anne-Marie Robb
Hi everyone!
We’re are pleased to be back and having fun learning in the classroom again. We have talked a lot about the Olympics. We have even had a green and gold day! It's been really good seeing all our friends and teachers again. During lock-down the preps had their 100th day of school so we celebrated that today. I think everyone hopes that we don't go back into lock-down, but we will be ready.
The Feast of Mary Mackillop - Sunday 8th August
Prayer for a Cure
For those seeking a cure for
the Corona virus
Father of mercies, we thank you for all who care for the sick.
When they diagnose, give them patience.
When they protect the vulnerable, give them your protection.
When they work to heal, give them strength.
When they comfort, give them consolation.
When they are tired, give them rest.
When they are discouraged, bring them your hope.
May we welcome and respect them
as we support one another in this time of trial.
Come, Holy Spirit, enlighten the
minds of women and men of medical
science who are working to find a
solution to this viral infection. Guide
their research and help them discover
what you provide in creation, sure ways
of control, protection, inoculation
and healing. Strengthen them in their
tiring work and enrich in them the
virtue of hope. Amen.
