Dear Families,
This fortnight we have celebrated the school house sports. Even with quite a few families away we were able to have many children compete. The day was delightful and it was such a joy being in the middle to journey around to see all the events.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Again, I ask that all parents be vigilant with their children interacting on social media platforms. Most platforms have an age limit of 13. Please see the attached guide for platform use and maintain close viewing of their interactions.
School Review
This week coming up our school is undergoing a “School Review”. This entails leaders from DOSCEL coming and interviewing all stake holders of the school, students, teachers, office staff, support staff and parents.
Alongside the interviewing process, teacher’s delivery of lessons, their understanding of High Impact Teaching Strategies and their use of the curriculum at children’s point of need are examined. The information they gather about our school will then be placed against the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) standards.
We as a school then look at the next items we can do on the standards to improve our school.
Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th are the days when the reviewers are at the school.
Last Day of school.
On our last day with students this term, being Thursday April 7th, the Stations of the Cross and our first Easter Bonnet Parade will be held on our oval. The 5/6 students have been organising the Religious celebrations and all children have an opportunity to create their own Easter bonnet at school. They do not have to use the one made at school for the parade if they would prefer to bring one from home.
We are hoping to encourage the community to gather with us having tea and coffee and the opportunity to chat.
Please enjoy the blessings of the long weekend,
See you all on Tuesday.
Anne-Marie Robb
Hello parents and students,
We would like to thank everyone who brought a donation for the Easter raffle.
The Easter raffle will be held on Thursday 7th April, the raffle tickets must be given to the office by Monday 4th April,2022.
We would also like to congratulate Isabella-Rose and Simon who are the blue house captains and lead their team to victory! A great day was had by everyone.
Have a good weekend.
On Monday we had a beautiful day to hold our Athletics Day with the sun shining. The whole school participated and all students were very well behaved and everyone demonstrated excellent sportsmanship. The students participated in a range of different events with many students receiving ribbons. The final results were very close, however Sebastian (Blue house) were the lucky winners of the day! Congratulations to Sebastian and all students for participating!

Prayer for Peace and Justice in Ukraine
God of peace and justice,
who changed the hardened heart and
break the power of violence,
we entrust the people of Ukraine to you.
Protect them in this time of peril;
let them know not death but life, not
slavery but freedom.
You are Father of all;
We are brothers and sisters.
Give us the strength to live that truth in
love, choosing peace not was.
Through Christ our Lord.
While Anzac Day is set to coincide with the anniversary of the landing in Gallipoli, the day itself is not meant to be a commemoration of the event, but rather the qualities that Australia established for itself there. On Anzac Day, we recognise the courage, mate-ship, skill, and perseverance of those who have served, fought, and given their lives in the military. On Anzac Day, we show love, honour and support for those who fought to enable freedom for people all over the world, but were not able to make it home.
The Morwell Return and Services League will be conducting a service to recognise all Australians who have served in all wars from 1915 to the present day and sadly those who were killed in action or died of their wounds in battle. The service will commence with the Parade starting at 11.50am from the corner of Commercial Road and Tarwin Street. The main service will start once the Parade arrives at the Cenotaph.
Each year in support of Return Services League our Sustainability Warriors will be selling Anzac badges, pins, Key rings and wrist bands ranging in price as follows:-
Anzac Pins @ $1, $2, $5, $10 & $20
Key Ring $4
Wrist Band $3
Clip-on $4.
Harmony Day
Sacred Heart Morwell Primary school came together to celebrate Harmony Day which is a day to celebrate unity and diversity. Students were encouraged to wear a splash of orange. Sacred Heart students spent the last hour of their day in cross-aged rotation groups looking and exploring activities around the theme “We come together to celebrate harmony in diverse cultures fostering respect and inclusiveness”. Harmony day not only encourages everyone to respect each other but also appreciate the country’s multicultural background.
Some of our senior students have been preparing for their first Sacrament of Reconciliation. This will be celebrated on Thursday 31st March, 5pm at Sacred Heart Church.
The school communicates with parents and carers via the Skoolbag App. It is important that you download the free app which will enable you to received correspondence from the school.
Please see attached the steps to download the app.
