Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Term One, we have had a beautiful beginning to Term. The children are settled in the classrooms and keen to begin their lessons.
We will be asking children from all levels (foundation in Term 3) to consider applying for SRC this year. Our running track is still the main focus and will continue to be worked on but we need more funds for ti. The SRC team will be responsible for working on some creative ideas that will add to scool life and help raise some more funds for the track to be completed.
Late last year the Grade 5's who were voted in as leaders met and made a decision for 2023 that all those who were voted for who had put themselves forwards would be able to be a sports captain. As we had enough
children voted for but not in the
correct coloured house. The children decided that they wanted to be leaders and that
changing house colours for some of them would be the compromise they we happy
to take. Some students commented to me after the meeting last year that it was just
like to the AFL drafting system.
Our new STEM teacher Mrs. Whitfield is working on a job description for the
Sustainability Warriors and Mrs. Inchincoli will develop one for the Justice Team. The
Senior teachers are working how the PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) shop will be
set up and I will again be looking for leaders for “Prayer of the Air” .
UNIFORM
It is very pleasing to see so many of our children beautifully attired in the correct
school uniform. This will be the last year that we will have our hybrid uniform of old
and new. All students must be in black shoes when they do not have sport. Sport
Day for seniors is Wednesday and for Juniors is Tuesday. Very soon we will have an
added feature on the PAM app that will let parents know when their child has come
to school out of uniform. If there is any reason why your child is out of uniform for
example (you have lost a jumper or have wet shoes) please let the teacher know via
a note or an email.
COMMUNICATION
We are asking all communication with teachers is via email or phone. Written notes
often get lost and teachers are able to revisit the digital message at any time. The
teachers will respond as soon as practicable in the next day of your message.
All students will receive a reading log in the next few weeks. This is for recording
reading as directed by the teachers in your student’s level. The reading logs will be
checked at different times during the week by different teachers.
Please communicate with teachers via phone or email.
