Good Afternoon Sacred Heart Families,
Today we greeted some of our new foundation students for 2024 with one of
our come and try days. Mrs. Larkins enjoyed a short afternoon with the
beautiful kinder kids. I would like to thank young Hunter who made me a lovey
coffee with no sugar and a plastic pickle from the children’s kitchen set.
The second big welcome I would like to say from the Sacred Heart Community
is to Mrs. Membery’s new grand daughter Piper Jane, a healthy 7lb 14 ounces.
Exciting activities
The Grade 4/5/6s planted trees at the Haunted Hills in Newborough today. The
children got down and dirty and all said it was the best fun. Whilst they were
away our Grade 3s enjoyed choosing from a bevy of healthy options to create
mini pizza for morning tea. Our Choices Big Idea is engaging and we’re all
looking forward to the next “Choices” activities. The Best Is Yet To Come.
School uniform
It is great to see most students are wearing the correct school uniform with no
brand black shoes. This term we are beginning random uniform checks. Please
ensure to send your child with a note (email to teachers) if they are out of
uniform, we understand wet socks and muddy shoes and not yet dry jumpers
on occasion.
In the coming weeks parents may receive a ping on their SIMON everywhere
app if their child is in the incorrect uniform.
Pick up and Drop
During the thick foggy days and the very cold mornings children will come
straight into the classroom. On these days the bottom gate will stay closed and
drop off will be in the car park at the top.
I remind all families that at pick up in the afternoon children can only enter the
car at the gate and not at any other point of the drive through. Part of our care
includes monitoring the children as they enter cars from the sidewalk. Adding
to this it can block off the flow of the drive through traffic. If you are picking up
your child at the top door please park and wait for the students to come out.
Absence at schoolIf your child is unwell for an extended period, we are required to ask for a
medical certificate. If you are taking your child for a holiday or have a family
event for any period of time, we must have written notification. This can be via
email or the SIMON everywhere app. Attending school is compulsory, and we
are required by law to record daily attendances.
Communication with school
Adding to the teacher email list is office@shmorwell.catholic.edu.au . Both Ms
Kristy and Mrs. Heinemann receive these emails and will direct the information
or questions to where it needs to go.
