Dear Families,
I welcome to Term Four. We have been up and down with the weather and
returning to routines, but I can happily say the children have settled well.
Our Big Idea for Term 4 is Journey
The inquiry for the Big Idea “Journey” is all design development and for the
seniors economics. Both the senior level and the junior level have a variety of
exciting extra-curricular activities planned. The Juniors are looking forward to a
study about the journey of food from paddock to plate. The Seniors are looking
at the journey of design around sustainable building processes. This will
include aspects of their economics study. In Faith Education the children will be
learning about “social justice” issues in the world. They will journey through
the mission month of October and celebrate Socktober activities. The concept
of Journey will continue during the Advent season as the children learn about
the journey of Joseph and Mary and the beginning of their life as a family.
School uniform
It is great to see most students are wearing the correct school uniform with no
brand black shoes. This term we are beginning random uniform checks. Please
ensure to send your child with a note (email to teachers) if they are out of
uniform, we understand wet socks and muddy shoes and not yet dry jumpers
on occasion.
In week two parents may receive a ping on their SIMON everywhere app if
their child is in the incorrect uniform.
Communicating with teachers
At Sacred Heart we invest in the partnership we have with families. We invite
all parents and carers to communicate with teachers about any concern you
may have regarding your child’s education. If there is a concern brought to
your attention, please let us know so we can work together to improve
learning outcomes. Email is an efficient way to communicate.

Absence at school
If your child is unwell for an extended period, we are required to ask for a
medical certificate. If you are taking your child for a holiday or have a family
event for any period of time, we must have written notification. This can be via
email or the SIMON everywhere app. Attending school is compulsory, and we
are required by law to record daily attendances.
Cricket
Interschool cricket was rescheduled for next Thursday, if your child was
attending, please log into PAM and re-sign the permission slip.
Andrew Chin concert
Next week on Tuesday 10 th Andrew Chin will be visiting the school and taking
children through some of his songs. They will then present a mini concert on
Tuesday afternoon for parents who can attend. This will be in the multi-
purpose room (Josephite Centre) at 2:00pm. The concert is always entertaining
for all audience members.
Prayers
I ask you to keep Ali in your prayers as he has begun his journey learning about
the Sacrament of Eucharist. He will travel together with the students in Year 4
who will learn specifically about the meaning of the sacrament and the
celebration will take place on October 29 th.
Please enjoy the blessings of your children over the weekend,
God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb

Welcome back to school.
Everyone is refreshed and ready to do some great things in term 4.
We were supposed to have cricket this Thursday but sadly because of the weather it has been postponed to Thursday the 12th.
Last term, red room was unable to have their gym excursion. They were lucky enough to reschedule their gym excursion and they went today. They had a great time and enjoyed learning new things.
We are looking forward to Andrew Chin coming into school on Tuesday.
