Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to all the parents and carers who made contact with the teaching staff during the
interview sessions. As some families were not able to come at those times we are keen for
you to have the opportunity to talk with the teachers about your child. Some parents have
made contact for a phone interview, this is always an option and some have made times for
next week. If you haven’t had an interview with your child’s teacher please email and make a
booking directly with the home room teacher.
UNIFORM REMINDER
The wearing of uniform is improving weekly, shoes need to be black they can be
comfortable, they do not have to be leather, just plain black shoes. With no brand
markings. A white sole is acceptable.
Socks can either be the school sock, bottle green or black and hair ties to be in the
same colour.
HOT LUNCH FRIDAY
We are enjoying hot lunches every week again. Thank you for your patronage.
LOLLIES AT SCHOOL
We have had a lot of children bring lollies to school and we are finding that they are
eating them before school, as well as at play time ( and sometimes trying to eat them
in class). Loads of sugar do not help focus for learning. We encourage all families to
limit lollies especially “all day lollipops” to special occasions. Please send fresh fruit,
carrot sticks, celery or sultanas. There are periodic fruit stops during the learning
sessions which children look forward to.
CAR PARK
Also a reminder that when dropping off students in the morning please either park in
the car park and have the students walk across the crossing or drive to the bottom
gate.
For safety reasons we cannot have cars parking where the morning flags or
beyond to let children out. Parents and Cares who wish to drop and run must
drive to the gate at 8:30 and let the children walk up inside the school.
Cars must move in and around the car park at walking pace (10kph) as designated
by the signs on the road and (5kph) in the car park. Everybody must enter and leave
the road slowly.

The start of the year has been amazing so far. But we are getting closer and closer to the end of term one.
Some grade 5/6‘s were lucky enough to get leadership roles in the Social Justice team, Sustainability Warrior and Sports Captain. Congratulations to them.
We are wishing luck to the people going to Division swimming in Wednesday.
Friday last week there was a Mr. Huff performance, people went up to dance with Mr. Huff and it was a very enjoyable time for everyone.
We have started to watch some movies inside at recess and lunchtime due to the hot weather conditions.

Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour
Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour
The Zones of Regulation are used in our classrooms and on the playground to help students identify their emotions. We use the language of the Zones of Regulation when discussing behaviour issues or if a student isn’t ready to learn.
This can be really helpful language at home to think about how our behaviours are affecting siblings or when we are not feeling our best.
