Good afternoon Sacred Heart families,
ANZAC Day
I would like to thank the leaders who represented our school in full school uniform on
ANZAC day and marched on behalf of our school. Shenuli, Robert, Amelia and
Jordan attended on the day with Mrs. Inchincoli, we pay tribute to our defence force
both past and present and gratefully embrace the freedom we have in Australia
through the positive choices we make at our school and in our community. We thank
the families supporting our school by bringing students to extra-curricular events.
Junior Excursion to Old Gipps Town
Our junior students visited Old Gipps Town and thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits and
the presentation by the staff. I was told that the children felt they really liked their
own teachers more after they had the experience of school in the “olden days”. The
weather was perfect and the children found exploring the old buildings and transport
equipment wonderful.
Kurnai Awareness Day
Our Grade 5/6’s enjoyed an experience of high school at the Kurnai Awareness Day.
As always, the teachers reported how well the students behaved and interacted with
their peers from other schools. The children had a taste of activities from many
different subject areas. They came back with toolboxes, artwork, and tasty treats.
Miss Lilianna
Thank you to Lilianna, who spent this week at school on Work Experience. The
children in Green Room enjoyed her company in the classroom.
X-country
This week students from Grades 3-6 went to the interschool x-country. We are so
proud of Chevy, Jordan G, Shenuli, Izarah, Charlie S, Julia, Jordan A, Jake, Xavier,
Maddy, Scarlet, Tahlia, Jaxon, Hayden, Robert, Ali and Erin. They all put in their best
efforts and Mrs. Inchincoli reported to me her immense pride in their interactions and
behaviour whilst representing our school in public. We are grateful for the support
given on the day by all the teachers and support staff who attended. Thank you, Mrs.
Inchoncoli, Ms. Hobbs and Mrs. Holloway.
Mother’s Day morning tea
We look forward to a Mother’s Day morning tea next Friday. All mums,
grandmothers, aunties and carers are invited to Mass at 9:15 am and afterwards a
short session in the classroom, and then morning tea. A note was sent out on PAM
please let us know the number of people attending.
Blessing for the week ahead,
Anne-Marie Robb

Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour
Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour
Teachers are currently working on a plan to implement a school wide approach to
consequences. Students will work through a series of tasks which will prompt them to consider what a consequence is and how these are implemented at Sacred Heart.
The initial stage involves focusing on what behaviours we are seeing around our school and determining the impact of that behaviour on others. To do this we will use a Universal Behaviour Pyramid and try to categorise behaviours. You might like to try to do this at home with your own children.
Please keep in you prayers our Confirmation candidates that will be preparing over the coming 3 weeks.
Last week was only 3 days so we missed assembly, that’s ok, we will have it next week.
On Wednesday the school photographers came back to take the grade six photos and all the leader photos. Now we have all the photos we need!
Today we had Cross Country, congratulations to those students that went through to the next round and they are very happy!
We had our first PBS shop for the term today, there were lots of new things to buy with our Sacred Heart coins.
