Good Afternoon Sacred Heart Families,
Catholic Education Week
Today is the official beginning of Catholic Education week.
The week is full of celebrations that embrace the things we do in Catholic school.
Classes will focus on activities throughout the week that celebrate our wonderful
school. On Monday some of the Grade 5/6s will be attending soccer, after the
amazing effort of the seniors at netball last week we expect that the children will
show our school to be Respectful, Inclusive and Safe and show their best
sportsmanship. The Grade 6’s will have their Retreat Day this week. They will have
time to reflect on their learning about the Gifts of the Spirit and cook a meal for their
parents and family. During the evening they will share some of their learning with
their family and serve their family a meal. On Thursday we have an open day. We
invite all who are interested to book a tour and come and see our school in action.
Please let any families interested in our school know we are having an open day on
Thursday 23rd, tours will be conducted throughout the day, they must be booked via
the office. And finally, we will have a Liturgy at school on Friday, an invitation will be
sent out on Monday.
Online Platforms
Again, I ask all parents to be exceptionally vigilant with online platforms as children
at school age are not meant to be on them alone and most do not have the maturity
to be able to self-regulate without support from an adult. Please keep an eye on your
child/ren’s interactions on digital platforms.
Confirmation
Please keep Lochy and Charlee in your prayers as they have begun the journey of
preparing for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. The Grade 6 team are
supporting them as they are travelling along a similar journey.
School Uniform
Please continue to send your children in the correct uniform, children must wear
black shoes on the four days they do not have sport. Hats are now no longer needed
at school, please make sure hair ribbons and scrunchies are in school colours, bottle
green, red, white or neutral tones.
Blessing for the week ahead,
Anne-Marie Robb

Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour
Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour
Teachers are working on a plan for a school wide approach to consequences. Students will begin work on this in the next few weeks and will be asked to consider how
our behaviours can impact others.
Students will learn that our behaviours can impact those around us in both positive and negative ways. We will then explore techniques we can use to repair our relationships with others.
Sports update
It has been a great start to the week with netball on Tuesday and the mixed team pulled it out of the bag not losing a single game and when we made it into the finals we won against Morwell Park and the mixed team have advanced into the next round against the Traralgon schools which will be on the 20th of June.
With School Soccer on Monday we have both a girls and a boys team to go and play against the other Morwell schools wishing them the best of luck.
Back at School
Some of the Grade 6’s have finished their Saints Projects but some have not yet but nearly are!
The Grade 6’s have their service evening on the 22 May and they will be cooking food for their parents and making games for them to all play.
The Grade 5’s have started their posters about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and so far they are doing pretty good making some amazing progress so far can't wait to see how they look when they are done.
Mother's Day
We really enjoyed having all our special people at school for Mother's Day.
We hope everyone ejoyed the morning tea and had a great Mother's Day
