Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome to Term Three.
NAIDOC WEEK
This Term we have started the week with fabulous celebrations for NAIDOC week. The children have crafted God’s eyes in the colours of the Aboriginal Flag, listened to local traditional stories and created art works.
GRAND PARENTS DAY
Next week we will celebrate Grandparent’s Day on Friday 27th. We will celebrate a morning Mass at 9:15 with our families, have activities in the classroom with grandparents and special people and then have morning tea at recess time.
Children will have an invitation for you all this afternoon.
GRADE 5/6 CAMP
The following week our Grade 5/6 students are venturing out into the city for the Urban Camp experience. The activities they will enjoy will be all around showcasing and story telling . The children are quite excited about the adventure.
SOCIAL MEDIA
I ask all parents to be vigilant with their student’s activity on social media platforms. This week I have had several reports of inappropriate interactions from over the holidays and in this 1 st week of school. I ask you to consider the appropriateness of some platforms and the frequency that your children are on.
Keep Warm and…God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb

Our Patch
A warm welcome back to all parents/carers and children at Our Patch Morwell.
For those who have not yet met me, my name is Nicola, and I am the new Our Patch
Leader at Sacred Heart Primary School, Our Patch Morwell. About me, I am a
mother of five wonderful grown children and a grandmother of eight beautiful
grandchildren and grandchild number nine is due next week. How exciting!! I am
passionate about working with children and am privileged to be working with the
children attending Sacred Heart Primary School, Morwell. I have worked for many
years as Coordinator at a small country agricultural school where the children taught
me much about farming.
The last two weeks have been spent engaging with the children attending Our Patch
Winter School Holiday Program. This has been an amazing time getting to know the
parents and children and sharing some exciting new experiences. Besides the many
and varied activities provided at Our Patch Holiday Program, the highlights of the
program included excursions to Wincity Bowling and Arcade Games and a
rewarding visit to the Parky’s Play and High Ropes Course. Two exciting incursions
were Lego Building and Science Explosion Activities. Wow! Did those two weeks fly!
Our theme for term three is ‘The Beauty of Winter.’ The children have begun to
decorate a Winter themed table with a Winter tree, snowflakes, icebergs and
penguins. They can continue to add their creativity to this table throughout the term.
We have added some ‘Winter Warmers’ to our After School Care menu, including
Hot Baked Potatoes with Sour Cream, Roast Pumpkin Soup, Pizza Muffins, Taco
Tuesdays and Apple Crumble and Custard.
Our Patch Morwell will be revamped this term, with new shelving, resources and
displays. Parent/Carer/Child input/feedback is always most welcome and helps
design the space individualized for each child. If there are any
resources/services/needs you feel would benefit your child/ren, please do not
hesitate to let us know at Our Patch.
If you have not yet met Nicola or visited Our Patch Service, please ask for a tour of
our service. Looking forward to meeting new children/parents who may require
Afterschool Care Service and looking forward to engaging in a fun term of activities
and healthy food with those families who already attend.
