Dear Sacred Heart Families,
The children have continued to embrace the warmer weather, however some days have been quite wet and windy and children need to wear their school jackets. I remind all families to label their jackets. There are many unnamed jackets in our lost property area, if you are missing one please come and have a look.
Crazy Hair Day
On Tuesday, I was so excited to see the enthusiasm if crazy hair day. The children were asked to bring a donation of an item for the Father’s Day raffle. Thank you to the parents who helped with the sorting out of gifts to create beautiful prizes and the sponsorship of families for buying tickets and also for embracing the craziest of hair designs.
Visit from Paul Velton
On the same day as Crazy Hair Day, Paul Velton who is the director of DOSCEL (Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited) came to visit. The crazy hair day was embraced by many students on the day and brought a smile to Mr. Velton. He was impressed with how quickly the children fell in to routine after lunch and their engagement in their lessons with so much excitement around them.
VicSpell
I would like to congratulate, Jordon G, Anna B, Scarlett L and Shenuli K for their efforts in the Vicspell competition on Wednesday. Mrs. Martin accompanied the students to the regional competition and said there was tough competition this year with some children moving into a 7th round. Scarlett came runner up in her aged group. Well done all.
HATS
The wearing of Hats will begin after the Father’s Day weekend. Already we have had weather demanding caution outside for longer periods of time. If you do not know where your child’s hat is please make an effort to ask them to look for it and bring it home. We have new hats for sale in the office $10 each. Children will not be permitted to wear each other’s hats for hygienic reasons.
Fathers’ Day breakfast
Thank you to all the dad’s and special people who came to the Father’s Day breakfast. With some rainy weather earlier, some families spent the morning indoors playing games and looking at displays and work the children had done. There was a short spot for them to play outside and then attendance at Mass. Thankyou to all the dad’s who came to Mass with their children, I know many children enjoyed sitting with their families during Mass.
SOCIAL MEDIA
I continue to ask that all parents and care givers continue to monitor their students on digital platforms. Children in primary school have not yet developed the capabilities to self-regulate in this area of interaction.
THE TIME MACHINE
The students have started to work on the production items their class are presenting in the school production. We are blessed to have many rich and talented staff in this area who are working on dance moves and costume design. The production will be presented in the second week of Term 4. All Grade 5/6 students who wish to act in the play will have an opportunity to do so with all classes embracing dance moves in the inquiry sessions.
Keep Warm and…God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb

Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour
Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviours
Our Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour has continued to be introduced to students in the classroom this term. Teachers have been very impressed with the student’s knowledge of the behaviours we encourage at Sacred Heart through our RISE expectations and the student’s ability to reflect on the consequences when they are not being followed.
This is the diagram which has been developed to help students understand the expected consequences of our behaviours at Sacred Heart. Staff and students will be beginning to use this language when discussing any heightened behaviours and how we can learn from our behaviours.
Today we celebrated fathers day with a BBQ breakfast. We then went to church to celebrate our Dads and other special blokes in our lives. Well done to those that won a raffle prize!
We have also had Crazy Hair Day on Tuesday. Some people had some really crazy hair!!
4 of our senior students went to compete in VicSpell on Wednesday. They all done really well, congratulations
