Religious Education
Families are warmly encouraged to take an active role in the life of the Sacred Heart Parish community in Morwell. A strong partnership between home, school, and parish supports the spiritual growth of our students and nurtures a vibrant, faith-filled community.
Religious Education Program
Religious Education is central to the holistic development of each child at Sacred Heart School. It shapes not only the spiritual life of our students but also their understanding of themselves, others, and the world around them.
At Sacred Heart, we believe our Catholic faith calls us to engage with the contemporary world through a Catholic worldview—one rooted in compassion, justice, and hope. We seek to inspire students to live out Gospel values in their everyday lives and to see all creation as sacred and worthy of care.
Our Religious Education program, To Live in Christ Jesus, provides a rich and meaningful foundation for students to grow in their faith. Through this program, we aim to:
-
Invite a loving encounter with God, fostering a personal relationship with the divine;
-
Develop a love of self, built on an understanding that each person is created in the image and likeness of God;
-
Encourage engagement with the Christian community, nurturing a sense of belonging and service.
Sacramental Program
In partnership with the Sacred Heart Parish, students are invited to participate in the Sacramental Program as part of their faith journey:
-
Year 3 – Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation)
-
Year 4 – Sacrament of First Eucharist (Holy Communion)
-
Year 6 – Sacrament of Confirmation
These sacraments mark significant milestones in the spiritual lives of our students. Preparation is supported through the Religious Education curriculum and further enriched by parent and parish involvement. Families are encouraged to attend information sessions and liturgical celebrations as part of this important journey.
At Sacred Heart, faith is not confined to the classroom—it is lived out daily through prayer, service, celebration, and community.
